iomart Hosting Customer Control Panel Enhanced

iomart Hosting constantly seeks to enhance the levels of service that it provides to its customers, and as such it is pleased to announce that a further two significant improvements have been made to its online customer control panel.

One Stop Support Shop – customer contact made easy 
Access to an integrated support ticketing system via the Hosting control panel, allows customers to issue change requests, request support, raise and view tickets from one central point of contact. The portal now enables the viewing of  the status and progress of any current ticket, together with an archive of historic requests, giving customers a total view of their managed hosting experience with iomart Hosting.

Carbon footprint – keeping customers updated

The issue of Green IT and Carbon Footprint is never far from the front pages at the moment, and as the world’s Governments seek to introduce legislative carbon accounting in order to achieve their publicly quoted CO² reduction targets, it is a subject that is not going to disappear sometime soon. Eventually, carbon reduction will affect every business and we will all be held to account for our organisation’s footprints. With this in mind, and to assist its colocation customers with their energy efficiency planning, iomart Hosting has added a personal CO² Emissions display (as generated by customer servers) to the customer control panel, and it believes that it is the first managed hosting company to provide such data. Work is now in hand to calculate a more complete emission's picture by inluding proportional data from the Data Centre Infrastructure e.g. cooling.
