Our Colocation Racks
iomart hosting utilises the Rittal 19" Rack Server 42U 600mm x1000mm as standard throughout its data centre estate. This rack was selected as its design assists iomart Hosting with both the physical security and climate control of the servers housed within it.
Ventilation is supplied via perforated front and rear ventilated door with open area of 78 %. Each rack features a 4 point locking system with the enclosure frame featuring steel doors front and rear. Baying is offered on all sides, with the frame section offering unlimited mounting diversity. All racks have PIN locked doors and access is only available to our customers or their nominated contractors. As every iomart Hosting data centre has a dedicated NOC team available, the facility to install and position pre-populated racks is available.
Rack Power
All racks within our data centres have dual independent power supply with the standard configuration being dual 16 amp supply with an optional 32 amp supply. As we have total management control over the configuration of power to each of the racks in our centres, we have the ability to set the power draw on a customer by customer basis. The base plan delivers 2kW per rack with 5kW per rack being the optimum. Every rack is backed up by dual battery string Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS) systems (deployed as standard) with every data centre having an onsite diesel generators with guaranteed fuel supply - protecting your services from any single power failure.
Colocation Rack Management
Every rack sited within our data centres is added to our asset register by our Network Operations Team. Subsequently each server device connected to the rack is allocated a designated asset tag that identifies and this is linked through into our customer control panel, enabling you to access and view real time management date such as power and bandwidth consumption.
