What does the provider's network infrastructure look like?

iomart Hosting owns and manages a UK wide network of 5 data centres (that's 'owned and managed' - not leased or rented). Each data centre is newly commissioned, fully powered, resilient and equipped to handle the latest in computing technologies. As 'masters of all that we survey' we are not tied to legacy or restrictive operating practises, and can truly offer a flexible customised service to our clients. We utilise our estate to ensure that we can stand behind our 100% Uptime guarantee. It doesn't matter how many clusters/back ups you create if they are in the same data centre....what happens if that datacentre suffers a total failure?

Our cloud hosting platform has been designed from the outset to deliver outstanding reliability. The platform has been engineered to ensure there is no single point of failure. This claim not only covers the connectivity, power and servers but the data as well. Each piece of data is written twice.

In addition to using more than one data centre to protect our cloud, we also ensure that we mitigate our by building cloud computing systems using equipment from market leading suppliers such as Cisco, EMC, Dell and HP and ensuring full redundancy across the cloud layers. We won't jeopardise your services by using cheap 'pizza boxes'.

Does the Provider supply an SLA with the service?

Simple 24 x 7. Not 'send us an email at anytime' 24/7 support but real 'call us anytime night or day 24/7 support'. Every one of the iomart Hosting data centres is managed by a team of round the clock systems engineers and technicians.

What Cloud Services does the operator offer?

iomart Hosting offers two levels of Cloud Services, CloudXtra, on demand managed cloud servers and CloudSure, our High Availability platform. The CloudXtra service is designed for organisations that require scalable, secure computing services on demand for variable periods of time, paying for the services that they consume. Client's have total control over the services they configure and consume via CloudXtra through the iomart Hosting Control Panel.

CloudSure is designed for organisations that require a highly available, scalable, and manageable data environment, that can connect securely and seamlessly to their own IT infrastructure and which can be tailored to suit their particular needs. Housed across our 5 UK data centers, our expertise and underlying infrastructure enables us to offer our clients a choice of three cloud hosting/virtualised environments - Xen, Hyper V and VM Ware.

How secure is our data?

iomart Hosting's data centres are fully certified to ISO27001, the recognised international standard developed specifically for Information Security Management Systems, requiring that a company demonstrates that it undertakes a systematic approach to managing sensitive corporate information and ensuring data security.
